Non-scheduled Dr. Appointment to check up on Jacob since he has been spitting up almost half his meals over the last 24 hours.

Returned home from the hospital.

C-Section. Everything went great!

Non Stress Test up in my room. They were moving so much that the tech had to give up and go do other work! She came back around 6:30pm though and was able to get a 20 minute reading on each kid. All looks good so far.

Non Stress Test down in the perinatal office. Heartbeats and everything look good.

Growth ultrasound - 34 weeks. Jacob is 5lbs & Allison is 4lbs 14oz. Both have good heartbeats and all looks well!

Hospitalized, most likely until the twins birth, as long April 9th (which is 3.5 weeks from now). Praying that won't be the case, but it probably will be.

Infant CPR class. C.A.B. Compression, Airway, Breathe!

Took a 2 hour "Care of the Newborn" class. Did not learn any new information in this one that we didn't learn from reading other books.

31 week growth sonogram. Son 4lbs 8oz & daughter 3lbs 11oz. Both look big & healthy, especially for twins! Delivery date tentatively set for the week of April 9th.

Class 5 of our Childbirth Prep Class. We had a big potluck and review of the past four weeks. Everyone was great and I'm glad we took this course. Signed up for two more classes in March.

Hospital tour of St. Joe's, the hospital where I'll be delivering the twins. Nice, friendly, & large private rooms. Doesn't get better than that!

Day 4 of class. We watched a video on cesarean sections and found out a little more about what is done to induce labor.

Day 3 of class. Watched some more gross videos.... i mean, videos showing the miracle of birth. We discovered that every time we sit in the chairs in class, the kids like to start kicking like crazy.

Day 2 of our labor/delivery class. We watched some more videos and learned different breathing techniques.

Fetal Echocardiography - An ultrasound that is now given to multiples since they are at a greater risk for heart defects to check for problems. Everything looked great.

During the Fetal Echo, the twins were also given a once over to check their major organs, bones, brain, face, limbs, etc etc. Our son is head up, feet resting on my bladder. He is perfectly healthy and weighing in at 2lb 3oz. Our daughter is head down and feet firmly planted into my rib cage. She is already showing some hair on her scalp and growing strong, weighing in at 2lb 2oz.

Today was Day 1 of 5 in our labor and delivery class. They made us watch a video of a woman giving birth and went over the general stages of labor. They also covered the different positions of the baby.

3 hour glucose test. Blood drawn every hour in order to see how body is breaking down sugar.

Ultrasound appointment. Doctor checked out all the babies major internal organs. Baby Boy estimated at about 1lb and 13oz. Baby Girl is slightly smaller at 1lb and 11oz.

Baby Shower. We spent the day with friends and family and got lots of great gifts from everyone. It was a great time had by all.

Today was the first time that Joe actually got to feel one of the babies kicking! Within the next week, Christy said it felt like they were playing Rock-em Sock-em Robots in there!

20 Week ultrasound. The doctor checked the babies internal organs and anatomy to ensure everything looked good. We also found out that BabyA was a boy and that BabyB was a girl (after she spent about 30 minutes hiding from the camera).

Normal doctor appointment today. Christy had to give a vial of blood and I'm pretty sure the lady who took her blood was doing her first blood draw.

First appointment with a normal doctor at Copperstate OB/GYN.

Last appointment with the fertility doctor.

Last progesterone oil shot given. 63 given in total. With the Lupron, the Menopur, and the HCG shot a grand total of 87 shots were given.

First time the babies looked like babies and were moving around.

Two heart beats confirmed on ultrasound.

First ultrasound showed two pregnancy sacs with embryos.

Blood test taken with positive results. First bout of morning sickness also occurred this day.

Home pregnancy test taken with positive results.

IVF procedure done. All four eggs were re-implanted as part of an out-patient procedure.

First shot of progesterone oil given. Numbing cream was used to help numb the area. This required the cream to sit on the area for one hour before giving the shot. 1CC initially injected into the lower hip. After a few weeks, this was raised to 2CC. It was eventually brought down to 1.5CC for a week, 1CC for a week, and then .5CC for the last few days.

IVF egg retrieval as out-patient procedure. A total of four eggs were removed and were fertilized.

On Saturday night, we had to do an HCG trigger shot in the lower hip in order to get ready for the IVF egg retrieval on Monday.


Date: 2011-07-21

First Menopur shot given. One shot per day for 9 days. This required us to mix a dissolvable tablet with a vial of water and then inject into the stomach.

First Lupron shot given in the stomach. One per morning for 14 days.


Date: 2011-07-01

Put on birth control pills in order to regulate menstrual cycle. Due to cysts seen in the uterus, this was extended to be taken over a two week period.
